Gartner, Inc. has announced the winners of the Gartner Data & Analytics Excellence Awards. The awards recognize excellence in data and analytics technology to drive best-in-class initiatives.
Six winners and 12 finalists were chosen from a pool of 152 submissions across all six categories. While the criteria were different for each category, all submissions were assessed by a team of Gartner analysts, and honorees were selected by benchmarking against world-class performance standards. Gartner looked for submissions with a strong organizational and leadership component, effective use of modern technologies, and most of all, clear business outcomes.
The best practices of the winners will be highlighted in the opening keynote at the Gartner Data & Analytics Summits in Sydney, Grapevine, Texas, London, Tokyo, Mumbai, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Best Information Governance and Master Data Management:
Winner: E.SUN Bank — E.SUN Bank, the leading private bank in Taiwan, built a governance and master data management (MDM) program that provides an extensive single view of the customer, which improves both customer satisfaction and overall performance.
Finalists: Carlsberg Group; Navient
Best Use of Data in a Product or Service:
Winner: VenueNext — The VenueNext platform provides accurate data in real time, enabling its customers to make critical business decisions that have an impact immediately to the bottom line in the venues that they operate.
Finalists: HARMAN; Waggle
Best Self-Service Analytics:
Winner: Ivy Tech Community College — Ivy Tech Community College, the largest singly accredited community college in the United States, built an innovative self-service analytics program that drove massive adoption by mainstream users in a way that ensured global consistency of data. The program empowered thousands of users to find analytic insights that lead to substantial business benefits.
Finalists: Nationwide; Vestas
Best Domain Analytics:
Winner: BayCare Health System — BayCare Health System, a nonprofit healthcare system in Central Florida, exemplified domain analytics by having medical experts work collaboratively with IT and analysis experts to build an analytics program that identified ways to standardize and improve care while also containing costs.
Finalists: Finnish Immigration Service; Toyota Financial Services
Best Data Management and Infrastructure:
Winner: glomex —The global media exchange based in Germany, glomex built a scalable data management infrastructure through big data investments enabling it to meet customer demand.
Finalists: Autodesk; Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du)
Best Advanced Analytics and Data Science:
Winner: Barclays Africa Group — Barclays Africa Group’s advanced analytics program provides comprehensive data science capabilities to enable client lead, predictive models that provide valuable insights across all of its business units.
Finalists: City of Chicago; YES BANK
