Gartnerが2024年に実施したCIO人材計画サーベイの結果、IT人材への需要が供給を上回り続けている中で、スキル・ギャップが組織の短期的な目標の達成を妨げていることが分かった。本リサーチノートでは、現在のIT人材の動向と、CIOがこの課題にどのように対処するかに関して、知見を提示する。
CIOと上級ITリーダーの79%は、2024年にITスタッフの増員を計画しており、フルタイム相当の従業員 (FTE) の人員増加率を5%と予測している。
組織における2024年の目標達成を阻害するスキル・ギャップの上位は、AI／機械学習 (ML)、生成AI、サイバーセキュリティである。
今後3年間で、ITリーダーは、アナリティクス、ビジネス・インテリジェンス (BI)、データ・サイエンス、エンドユーザー・サポート、カスタマー・エクスペリエンス管理といった分野のタスクが生成AIに置き換えられる、とITリーダーは予想している。
2024年も引き続き、人材パイプラインを拡大するために必要なスキルの獲得は困難であり、CIOの69%は現在の従業員をスキルアップ／リスキリングする予定だと回答している (2023年の47%から大幅に増加)。
採用だけに頼るのではなく、AI、自動化、スキルアップを含むIT人材戦略にシフトすることで、スキル・ギャップを解消し、目標達成に悪影響が及ぶ度合いを軽減する。
IT人材の候補者が何を求めているかに焦点を当て、IT雇用の価値提案を見直すことで人材配置における目標を達成し、優秀なIT人材の募集／採用の高いハードルを乗り越える。
