Dan Wilson helps clients improve the digital employee experience (DEX) through research on technology management tools. These include:
-Endpoint management (includes patching, analytics and automation)

-SaaS Management platforms (SMP)
Dan also advises clients necessary changes to charter, organization, roles, processes, metrics and measures, and more to evolve IT support or end-user computing into a modern digital workplace.
Dan also leads the research that helps clients assess current and desired future state digital workplace maturity and align maturity with their leadership's ambition for the digital workplace. With this knowledge, we can build a roadmap that prioritizes investments to achieve their mission critical priorities.
Additional research areas include:
-Employee enablement to drive adoption of new technologies and boost workforce digital dexterity.
-Agile approaches to the digital workplace, which we call continuous endpoint engineering.
-Deploying and enabling Microsoft 365.
As a practitioner, prior to joining Gartner, Dan led internal and outsourced EUC teams for global companies for over 20 years. This included higher education, small business IT outsourcing and global multinationals organizations. Most recently, he led global workplace services including service desk, executive and deskside support, messaging services, enterprise mobility, managed print services, document imaging, client engineering, active directory, genius bar, audio-visual support, modern collaboration, document management, cellular services, IT asset management, IT service management and other user-facing services. He also governed multiple outsourced services and technology vendors. Key initiatives included defining and executing IT transformation through brownfield implementation of a new ITSM and Asset Mgmt and global implementation of enterprise mobility and Office 365. His primary focus was enablement - driving awareness and adoption of modern collaboration and workplace tools and services to improve employee productivity and satisfaction.
