Previous Experience

Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Marquis held the role of Practice Director at Global Knowledge, where he consulted to IT technology vendors and senior IT leaders worldwide on the effects of digital technologies on IT (people, process, products and providers.) For example, while at Global Knowledge he developed a program to evaluate and select staff to aid IBM's rollout of its recently acquired SoftLayer capabilities globally. For Orange Business Services he built customized individual assessment tools so Orange's management could see the competency and skills gaps for each individual, and then provided a summary of findings, root causes, and recommendations, revealing individual and group strengths. He was also a senior-level Director of Infrastructure and Service Architecture for Lowe's Home Improvement, where he led a successful large-scale DevOps and ITSM effort to reduce time to market and improve time to value through workflow improvements, including optimization of tools, processes, metrics, organizational structures and general computing controls.
