2024年1月、能登半島地震が甚大な被害をもたらした。国内のどの都市にもこのクラスの地震が来ないとは言えない。一方、企業システムの大規模災害への対策が不十分な企業は多く、企業活動が停滞する恐れもある。I&Oリーダーは、大規模な災害・障害は起こるものと考え、企業システムの対策を直ちに進めるべきである。
東日本大震災から10年以上が経過し、ITの事業継続計画 (BCP) やディザスタ・リカバリ (DR) に対する感度が低下している。実際に、災害復旧の予行演習を行っている企業は37.4%にとどまることがGartnerが2023年4月に実施した調査で明らかになっている。能登半島地震クラスの震災が東京やその他の大都市を襲った場合は、企業の事業継続に支障を来たす可能性がある。
日本は地震が多いにもかかわらず、前述の調査では、国内企業のおよそ半分がBCPを満たす適正な災害対策を取っていないことが分かっている。
ランサムウェアの被害が後を絶たない中、ランサムウェア対策としてバックアップを取っている企業においても、バックアップ・データからのリカバリに対する準備をしていないところが散見される。
大災害が起こる可能性が極めて高いと心得て、想定外の状況に備え、非常事態時の災害対策戦略と基本原則を確立する。少なくとも、権限とその委譲、意思決定プロセス、任務の優先度について明確にする。
BCPを満たすためのITの災害対策を直ちに進め、そのための投資を行う。災害対策の総コストがIT予算の7%以上となるように優先度をコントロールする。
ランサムウェア被害からの復旧は企業の喫緊の課題の1つであると捉え、この復旧のためのバックアップ改修を直ちに行う。まずは、ランサムウェア対策を施し、バックアップ・データを迅速にリカバリするための施策を検討し、導入する。また、この施策によって予測できる目標復旧時間 (RTO) を復旧計画に含める。
