企業ネットワークの在り方が大きく変わろうとしており、閉域網中心の単一で融通の利かないものから、クラウド中心の多様で柔軟なネットワークへの移行が始まっている。本リサーチノートでは、特にネットワークおよびそのセキュリティを担当するITリーダーに向け、2024年以降の企業ネットワークの展望を解説する。
企業ネットワーク運用管理は、機器／回線の状態把握、帯域の増強、機器の入れ替えなどさまざまな作業にわたるが、自動化や省力化が十分に進んでいない領域の1つである。
クラウド提供型のサービスは、利用するデバイス、ネットワーク、クラウド上のサービスなどさまざまな要因が品質の劣化に直接影響するため、どこから対処してよいか分からず、結果的に何の対策もできていないケースが見受けられる。
トラフィック増加に対処するために、一部の拠点に新たなインターネット回線を引き込み、ローカル・ブレイクアウトの形でトラフィックの負荷を軽減している企業が4割程度ある。
自社が利用している機器や回線のベンダーが、AI利用を前提とした運用者向けインタフェースを積極的に導入する意向があるかどうかを確認し、積極的でないベンダーについては、次の契約更改時に継続して採用するか否かを判断できるようにする。
できる限り早期に自社のネットワーク全体の中核となる部分 (多くのユーザーが利用するゲートウェイおよびその周辺など) にエクスペリエンス監視を導入し、利用者からクレームが来る前にその予兆をつかむ体制を整える。
閉域網をなくすことは、目的ではなく手段である。ベスト・エフォートの通信品質では不十分な通信や、インターネット経由でのサイバー攻撃にさらされたくない通信は、従来の閉域網接続の採用を継続する。
