Gartnerの2023年IT/OT Alignment and Integration Surveyでは、IT/OT連携のドライバーは依然としてセキュリティ対策であった。当サーベイからOT管理のトレンド、またIT/OT連携を加速する組織体制は、各企業の業種・業態・状況により異なることが明らかになった。
オペレーショナル・テクノロジ (OT) 管理の組織体制にベスト・プラクティスは存在しない。「ITとOTを同一部門で管理する」と「OTはITと別組織で管理、ガバナンスや規約を一部もしくは完全に共有」が、おおむね半々であった。
適切なOT管理部門は依然として不明確である。OT担当者は、CIOのOT管理責任は大きくないと認識している。
サイバーセキュリティ・リスクの軽減は、IT/OT連携で最も重要である。回答者の87%はサイバーセキュリティの重要度が高いと回答、これは2021年の前回調査とも一致した。
IT/OTのデータ統合における最大の懸念は、セキュリティとプロセスの完全性に関するリスクである。回答者の13%は、ITシステムには影響を与えないものの、OTを無効化するセキュリティ・インシデントを経験した。これは2021年の調査から9%増加している。
IT/OT連携を目指すCIOは、以下に留意する。
IT/OT連携を加速する際、IT部門とOT部門を、完全に統合し単一部門にする必要はない。
OTシステム管理の職務職制が不明確もしくは実態と乖離している場合は、再定義する。
再定義する際、OTサイバーセキュリティのみについて協議せず、IT/OT連携がもたらす幅広いメリットを検討する。
OTソフトウェアは、パッチ管理、ソフトウェア・リリース管理、アクセス管理などに注力すべきである。OEMなどの外部機関によるアクセス管理も考慮する。
