Dion’s ’90s power ballad “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” serves as the inspiration for the singer’s new holiday ad promoting trends from the 1990’s and early 2000’s that are “all coming back.” The video ad is a recreation of Dion’s original music video from 1996. The video features eighteen shoppable brands on Instagram including Micheal Kors, Revolve and Oscar De La Renta. Instagram leads in social media platforms adopting commerce features, according to a Gartner L2 report. This newest ad promotes Instagram Shopping, which the company rolled out in March 2019.
More and more brands have been embracing the Instagram checkout features—particularly since Instagram announced 80% of app users follow shopping brands. The video ad makes sense given 130 million users interact with shopping brands on Instagram monthly. Dion’s shopping guide also highlights the description pages users can see when clicking on product tags or Instagram stories.
