Stella Artois is making one lucky couple’s dreams come true with a free wedding.
In its new “Far From You, But Yes I Do” campaign, the beer brand is looking for couples that got engaged during quarantine to submit their stories on Twitter, including pictures, videos, and audio recordings of the proposal. Under the hashtag #WeddingContest, couples engaged between March 13 – March 25 can submit their love stories for a chance to win—users have until May 25th to enter. The campaign could be the endearing distraction consumers need during the Coronavirus pandemic, but could also help Stella Artois grow its online community according to a Gartner report on the topic.
Stella Artois recruited two stars from the Netflix show Love Is Blind to help with the contest. Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton—a fan-favorite couple who got engaged on the show having never seen each other—will hold special Q&A’s on their social media channels and ultimately choose the couple to receive a free wedding. The Love Is Blind pair have a combined social media following of 3.8 million which Stella Artois can tap into to reach new audiences. Indeed, the Netflix show has been avidly popular since its release in February, making it the perfect consort for Stella Artois’ campaign about love while social-distancing.
As more people try to connect on social media while social distancing, Stella Artois is bringing communities together with the reminder that celebratory moments and meaningful love stories are still happening despite, and perhaps even because of the circumstances.
