Life Insurance Policy Administration Systems

Policy administration systems are the fundamental foundations that underpin a life insurance company’s digital strategy. The capabilities provided by a policy administration system can enable a life insurer to fundamentally shift its ability to compete in an evolving digital insurance landscape. Gartner defines a life insurance policy administration system (PAS) as a system that provides full end-to-end life cycle management of group and individual life and pension products. Specialist focus still exists among some vendors, particularly in group life insurance business lines, and some are included in this market, with some vendors’ portfolios slanted toward more individual or group offerings within specific lines of business (life, pensions or annuities). In general, vendors are increasingly offering a comprehensive range of products with vendors looking to alternative capabilities to differentiate their offerings; for instance, front-end portals with embedded engagement tools.
