2020 Women in Supply Chain Survey Highlights Consumer Value Chain Progress

Improve the attraction, development and retention of women in supply chain

The fifth annual Gartner Women in Supply Chain Survey revealed that 17% of CSCOs in surveyed organizations are women, up from 9% in our first annual survey. This survey highlights consumer value chain progress and points out that women make up more than 50% of the professional workforce. Recommendations for CSCOs and supply chain leadership include:

  • Establishing integrated pipeline planning processes to ensure that women reach the top ranks
  • Defining clear, measurable goals and targets for supply chain roles to provide accountability
  • Prioritizing the right initiatives to improve representation rather than rely solely on employee resource groups (ERGs) and training
