Summary

Quest Software, a provider of monitoring and management software, recently bought FastLane Technologies. FastLane is a directory management vendor focused on the MicrosoftWindows platform. FastLane's DM/Suite is a set of tools designed to help with the planning and migration from the domain structure of Windows NT to Windows 2000 and Active Directory. Under the terms of the agreement, Quest will acquire FastLane for a combination of cash and stock totaling approximately $100M. The transaction is expected to close by early August, and FastLane will operate as a separate division of Quest.
