The low adoption of blockchain technologies lulls many CIOs into thinking they don’t have to take action yet. Only 11% of enterprises have deployed — or will deploy over the next year — even minimal, blockchain-inspired technologies, and still fewer (4%) expect blockchain to seriously impact their businesses. 

Although blockchain is maturing slowly, it will impact key elements of business — even of the economy — when it matures. It’s imperative that CIOs initiate plans to exploit blockchain by responding to five realities.
