Summary

The Escala E and T are special. Whereas most of Bull's Escala product line consists of RS/6000 servers OEMed from IBM, the French vendor actually designs and manufactures the E and T itself. The E is a 2-way workgroup server; the T, a 4-way. Both products use PowerPC processors-- the latest models use IBM's 64-bit PowerPC RS64-II processors-- and they run IBM's AIX operating system. To some customers, they could be an alternative to IBM.
